Ensure that the battery cover is tightened and closed securely. If the cover is not closed securely, it means that the battery is not in place correctly. If your scale is using lithium batteries, when inserting the batteries, you must ensure they are placed one on top of the other, with + positive side facing up (towards them). Then both batteries must be placed underneath the silver metal tap. If one battery is underneath the silver metal tap and one is on-top of the metal tab, the scale will not switch on, as the batteries have not been placed inside the compartment correctly.
The battery needs to be replaced.
If an error “Err” message appears: You might be standing on the scale before “0.0” is displayed. When the scale is switched off, quickly and firmly tap the centre of the scale platform with foot to activate. Wait a few seconds, then “0.0” will be displayed. You should then stand on the scale –never stand on the scale before “0.0” is displayed. The “Err” message will also be displayed if the weight on the scale exceeds the scales capacity.
Once you have in-put your personal data and you wish to find out your body analysis (ie. body fat, body water, BMI, Bone mass etc.), you must stand on the scale barefoot, with no shoes or socks, and also ensure your feet are aligned on the stainless steel electrodes on the platform. If your feet are not aligned correctly on the stainless steel electrodes, or if you are wearing socks or stockings, the scale will display “Err” and then switch off.
Please ensure you are using the scale on a flat and level tiled or laminate surface – THE SCALES SHOULD NEVER BE USED ON CARPET, unless specified. If you are weighing yourself with the scale on carpet, it will show different weights, which can be up to 10kgs difference.
All WW’s bathroom scales are equipped with a memory feature. If weighing yourself again within 30 seconds, the scale will show the same weight, if the new weight is only a small difference (less than approx 0.50kg or 1.0lbs).
Occasionally your scale will need to be recalibrated, particularly if you store your scale sideways against a wall. To recalibrate:
- Place the scale on a hard, flat surface
- Tap the scale on, and wait for "0.0" to appear
- Step on the scale. The first weight that is shown is likely to include your weight, as well as the actual weight of the scale.
- Step off the scale, wait up to 45 seconds (as within 30 seconds the scale will remember your previous weight), then tap the scale again, ait for "0.0" to appear and then step on the scale again.
- You may need to run through this process up to 3 times to fully recalibrate your scale.
To set the user data for your scale, simply:
- When the scale is switched off, quickly and firmly tap the centre of the scale platform to activate.
- “8888” will be displayed. Wait a few seconds, then “0.0” will be displayed.
- Once “0.0” is displayed, firmly press the SET button.
- P-01 will flash in the display window – press UP or DOWN arrows to select user number. Once OK press SET.
- Ht, or cm symbol will flash in the display window – press UP or DOWN arrows to select height. Once OK press SET
- Age will flash in the display window – press UP or DOWN arrows to select age. Once OK press SET.
- Male and female gender icon will flash in the display window – press UP or DOWN arrows to select gender. Once OK press SET.
- The scale will now re-display all of the saved data and then switch off.
The scale has factory default data already input into the scale. This is to demonstrate the data that can be input into the scale. Follow the instructions in your IB to set the scale with your own personal data.
To update the user data if you make a mistake or if your age changes, simply follow the following steps, as if you are setting the scale up from scratch again:
- When the scale is switched off, quickly and firmly tap the centre of the scale platform to activate.
- “8888” will be displayed. Wait a few seconds, then “0.0” will be displayed.
- Once “0.0” is displayed, firmly press the SET button.
- P-01 will flash in the display window – press UP or DOWN arrows to select user number. Once OK press SET.
- Ht, or cm symbol will flash in the display window – press UP or DOWN arrows to select height. Once OK press SET.
- Age will flash in the display window – press UP or DOWN arrows to select age. Once OK press SET.
- Male and female gender icon will flash in the display window – press UP or DOWN arrows to select gender. Once OK press SET.
- The scale will now re-display all of the saved data and then switch off.
